The mission of the LACDC, founded in 1978 and celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is to provide accessible, free, mental health services to children who cannot otherwise afford them. Our desire is to help children regain their well-being, achieve appropriate developmental milestones and become integrated and productive members of their communities.
As of June 30, 2018, the LACDC will happily transition our programs into exciting new entities. The LACDC at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy will transition into the newly named Jeri Weiss Mental Health Program at CNCA. Our program at the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center in Culver City will transition into the Venice Family Clinic. We are thrilled that the high level of care and assistance the LACDC is known for will continue.
Dr. Jeri Weiss, our former President who passed away in 2016, was a passionate advocate for our programs. In 2009 she wrote; “My fervent hope is that you, our most loyal supporters, will help sustain us. Even as economic challenges concern us all, the children we serve need us more than ever. Please help us help them.” We know that our programs can only flourish with the financial support of our generous donors and our committed foundation partners. We hope that you will stay involved to assist us in continuing the LACDC’s legacy by supporting these vital programs in the future.
